Roast Level: The Middle (Medium, Filter & Espresso)
Origin: Peru, Puno – Carabaya, Ayapata
Variety: Bourbon, Caturra, Typica
Process: Washed
Tasting Notes: Red Grape, Apricot, Red Apple, Chestnut, Chocolate, Maple Syrup
Balanced. Sweet. Transparent.
From the hidden valleys of Ayapata in southern Peru, this lot brings both brightness and depth. Expect layers of red grape, apricot, and apple fruitiness, rounded with chestnut, chocolate, and maple syrup sweetness. Roasted to “The Middle” — Coffee County’s balanced style — it captures clarity, acidity, sweetness, and mouthfeel in harmony.
About the Origin
Ayapata is one of the most remote coffee regions in Puno. Reaching the farms requires a 10-hour journey from Lake Titicaca, crossing mountains over 4,500m. Perhaps because of this isolation, heirloom varieties remain pure, producing coffees of remarkable character.
This lot comes from four producers in Ayapata, led by Adan Rodrigo Quispe, whose farm Alto Mirador placed 26th in the 2023 Cup of Excellence. At 1,800–1,900m, shaded by mist and nourished by diverse crops, their coffees reflect resilience and tradition.
Perfect For
